Science communication

 

Jane Lyons was contracted in 2014-15 by the National Marine Science Committee as the writer for the National Marine Science Plan (www.marinescience.net.au) – a major collaborative effort by more than 500 scientists and stakeholders.

Jane’s challenge was to take input from a number of technical and science teams, which ranged in clarity and quality, and turn it into a clear and interesting document for an audience that spanned public, government, industry, politicians and scientists.

Her ability to build an understanding of the material’s technical breadth and the marine science community’s cultural quirks; influence and work closely with the executives; capture the technical material in an engaging writing style; and deliver on time and above expectations was exceptional.
